BGT act's past TV fame unearthed as judge Bruno calls him 'torture'

Britain's Got Talent 's Ichikawa Koikuchi left the judges divided with his comedy act on Saturday night - but it's not the first time he's performed it.

During the launch of BGT 2023, Ichikawa was described as "torture" by new show judge Bruno Tonioli, while Amanda Holden saw the funny side.

Simon Cowell was also laughing at one moment, as the comedian performed a series of acts involving him farting into a tube.

From blowing out the candles on a cake to playing an instrument, his unique method of doing both certainly divided the panel and the audience during his audition this weekend.

Ichikawa, from Japan, is no stranger to performing for live crowds and appearing on TV though.

In fact just four years ago, he performed a very similar act on another of the 'Got Talent' series, Asia's Got Talent.

He did the balloon popping trick and the party horn trick too, leaving the show's panel very amused.

While he managed to get a yes from the judges, he didn't make it all the way and was unsuccessful on the show. It's also thought he appeared on France’s Got Talent in 2022.

Now, he's trying the British show - and he had the audience backing him when he suddenly couldn't perform his last trick.

Simon even joined him on stage and attempted to help him, staying by his side as he attempted the trick one final time.

Ant and Dec were in stitches while Simon covered his mouth, and suddenly there was an applause as he managed to pop the giant balloon.

Ichikawa was thrilled as he and Simon hugged it out, and celebrated the moment on stage.

Simon then assured his co-stars: "It's not fake, it's real," while Alesha confessed she enjoyed watching it.

Ichikawa was thrilled as he was given three yeses from the judges and sent through to the next round.

Britain's Got Talent airs this Saturday at 8PM and Sunday at 7:45PM on ITV1 and ITV X.
