With eight points between them and Arsenal, Manchester City will be keen to pile on the pressure when they travel to face a Southampton struggling to find any sort of form.

Pep Guardiola's side travel to St Mary's with an impressive away form record of 10 points from a possible 12 in their last four league trips while the Saints have accumulated the same points tally across 14 home matches this season - the worst home record in the league.

It comes as no surprise for Man City to be the favourites and bookies Betway have priced them at 1/4 with hosts Southampton at a distant 11/1 and a draw is 5/1 too.

Chad Yeomans, Betway's head of PR, said: “Southampton weren’t easy to watch against West Ham last Sunday and although the prospect of any club must be daunting at the movement, the thought of Man City coming to town must send a shiver down the spine of manager Ruben Selles.

“City were formidable against a lacklustre Liverpool side last week and will be expecting their frontmen to have a field day at St Mary’s.

"We’ve priced up Julian Alvarez to score first and City to win at 7/2, which has been popular as has City to win 3-1 at 10/1, both of which have been boosted on site.”

Alvarez has been in the shadow of Erling Haaland this season but the Argentine will be keen to make an impact - especially after securing a goal against Liverpool last time out. Even with Haaland's impressive form, the Argentine has certainly made a case to be a decent deputy for Guardiola with 14 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions this season.
