Luxury £1.6million Ferrari towed away by police after driver makes basic error
An expensive luxury sportscar has been towed away by police after they discovered the driver had no insurance.
Neighbourhood cops in Lowestoft, Suffolk enforced the eye-catching vehicle seizure on Friday, following the discovery of the basic error, with the driver now having to pay to get their supercar back.
Records suggested the Ferrari F40, which sells for £1.56million, had only been bought recently. The identity of the driver has not been revealed.
One of the Suffolk Constabulary's Neighbourhood Crime Proactive team, known as the Kestrels, spotted the sportscar while on patrol in the seaside town.
A post from the force about the driver's expensive mistake said: "The Kestrels were on the prowl (as they usually are) and spotted a Road Traffic Offence.

The driver has now been handed a recovery fee of £150, with an additional charge for storage every single day until the car is retrieved.
It will only be available to collect when the driver has bought vehicle insurance.
In a different kind of towing drama, one woman shared earlier this year how she got her neighbour's car towed away for parking in her mum's space.

In the post, she confessed: "One day, as my dad was at work and mum was out grocery shopping, I saw a guy parking his car in our spot.
"As the tow truck driver was hooking the car up, the guy came out and saw it. He immediately got into an argument with the tow truck driver and was saying he was 'only like, 10 minutes!'.
"My mum got home about half an hour later, and I forgot to mention to her what happened, but 10 minutes after she returned, the guy that stole our spot came to our house and argued with me and mum, saying he was only going to be there for five more minutes.
After a short argument, the annoyed neighbour then returned home - leaving the woman wondering whether she'd done something wrong.

Most of the commenters said she was not in the wrong, as she couldn't have known how long he was going to stay parked there.
