Newsboy's racing tips for Monday's three meetings, including Newcastle Nap

Newcastle features a seven-race card on Monday, where Newsboy's Nap, As If By Chance, runs in the 7.30

AS IF BY CHANCE (7.30) looks destined to score in the seven-furlong Spreadex Sports Get 40 In Bonuses Handicap at Newcastle.

The five-year-old began his juvenile career on the Newcastle all-weather, finishing runner-up on three of his four starts, and he performed well last term at around this mark, having previously scored twice over six furlongs at Thirsk and Nottingham.

Nigel Tinkler sent him over course and distance 10 days ago, finishing a decent third, having not had the clearest of runs, running on well in the closing stages in a similar class contest. That run is sure to have brought him on nicely.

DIBBLE DECKER (3.00) is seeking a hat-trick of wins via the Boyne Cup at Ludlow over 2m 7f.

Tom Lacey’s dual hurdle winner switched to chasing this season, and after a pair of low key efforts was given the aid of cheekpieces and stepped up in trip.

The combination certainly did the trick, the seven-year-old putting in a strong display at Huntingdon over 2m 4f, giving lumps of weight to Ozzie Man and winning by half a length.

He returned to the same course to score again, holding on by a nose from Dom Of Mary, who went on to win at Stratford on Saturday.

While the selection has an extra 4lb to carry, the additional three furlongs should suit him well.
