Mum found cradling dead six-month-old baby after hearing her chilling screams
Neighbours heard a woman's piercing scream before rushing to her home to find her cradling her dead six-month-old baby.
Locals raced to her aid in Merriwa, in northern Perth, Australia at around 8am on Saturday.
One man said he tried to perform CPR on the little one before paramedics arrived on the scene.
Despite their best efforts, the baby couldn't be saved and was pronounced dead.
Sean Kavanagh said the woman's chilling scream was like nothing he'd ever heard.

He said: "I've never heard anyone scream like that."
(nine)"You could hear her going out and back just screaming 'no'. The whole street was in chaos, " he told 9News.
Shontelle Pilton, who also lived nearby, said the incident was "devastating".
'It's a devastating situation that has happened,' he said.
"I am a mum of three myself. If that was your child how would that leave you feeling?"
She said she will be "praying" for the woman and her family after the tragedy.
West Australia Police said they have launched an investigation into the circumstances.
