Comic Relief 2023 announced the public had raised a whopping £31,952,141.00 for Red Nose Day, during the live BBC broadcast on Friday night.

While donations will still be coming in, the final donation total on the night hit more than £30million.

It was a little lower than last year's total, which saw £42,790,147.00 raised to support some of the most vulnerable people in both the UK and the rest of the world, as well as Ukraine.

A number of challenges were carried it out during the show as well as in the lead-up, by the public and some very famous faces.

The episode itself was once again full of laughter, while it also flagged the importance of the charity and the donations made - showing viewers how the money makes a difference.

During the three hours of live TV, AJ Odudu, Joel Dommet, Zoe Ball, Paddy McGuinness and David Tennant were amongst the famous names keeping viewers updated.

As for the comedy, there were skits from Love Island and other shows, as well as new hit The Traitors.

Danny Dyer, Stephen Merchant and Jennifer Saunders all took on the hit new series which stormed to success earlier this year on the BBC.

Joining them were Dawn French, Mary Berry and Rosie Jones, as well as series one contestants Maddy Smedley and Wilfred Webster.

There was also a special edition of the BBC comedy series Ghost, with Kylie Minogue making a one-off appearance amongst the cast.

Prince William also starred in a pre-recorded clip in a rare TV appearance, as he featured in a homelessness appeal.

Speaking in the film, the future King said: “My mother introduced me to the cause of homelessness from quite a young age, and I'm really glad she did.

"I think she would be disappointed that we are still no further on in terms of tackling homelessness and preventing it than when she was interested and involved in it.”

Comic Relief 2023 for Red Nose Day is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
