A Place in the Sun's Jonnie Irwin slams 'worst human ever' over cruel comment

Former A Place in the Sun host Jonnie Irwin reacted to a "cruel" comment that was made on social media recently.

The presenter, 49 - who announced that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer last year - took to Instagram earlier this week to tease over a photoshoot.

He posted a photo of an outfit just a few days ago and wrote on the platform: "Photo shoot tomorrow and new garments arrived bang on time. As ever, all about the layers".

One person seemed to take issue with the post though and questioned Jonnie about his plans - which prompted a response from the father-of-three himself.

The person in question commented on the post: "Shouldn't you be spending your final days/weeks with your kids rather than doing all this paid publicity? Just saying."

Jonnie was among those who reacted to the comment, with him saying that the project actually involved his family - despite it having been assumed otherwise.

The presenter responded in the comments section of his post: "It was a shoot WITH my family but just to confirm. You are the worst human being I can imagine meeting".

Other followers weren't impressed by the comment that had been made to Jonnie, with some appearing to describe it as "cruel," "awful" and "appalling" in their responses.

The presenter opened up about his health last year, with him announcing that two years prior he had been diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread to his brain.

Jonnie and wife Jessica Holmes, 40 - who have been married since 2016 - share three children. They are parents to son Rex, four, as well as twins Rafa and Cormac, both two.

He has previously spoken about wanting to make more memories with his family following his diagnosis after commenting: "I don't know how long I have left".

He told Hello magazine: "I want to make memories and capture these moments with my family because the reality is, my boys are going to grow up not knowing their dad."
