Piers Morgan has been slammed for 'slut-shaming' A-list stars including Emily Ratajkowski and Euphoria star Hunter Schafer over their Oscars looks.

The talk show host, 57, let rip on some of the celebrities' sheer ensembles and made his distaste clear what he deemed there was far too much skin on show for the prestigious event.

Transparent and sheer frocks appeared to be the theme of this year's Oscars as huge stars such as Normal People's Daisy Edgar Jones, Emma Watson, and Lady Gaga also opted for daring mesh looks alongside model and actress Emily - who received the brunt of Piers' criticism.

Comparing celebrities from this generation to that of old Hollywood, Piers slammed actors and famous faces for their ‘skimpy’ looks as they attended both the Oscar ceremony and Vanity Fair’s iconic after-party.

During his chat show on TalkTV, the Piers Morgan Uncensored, the host said: "More and more of them rocked up basically naked with a couple of bars of clothing over them.

"This is not what the Oscars is supposed to be about, where’s the glamour in this? This is like a bunch of strippers.

"By the way, I have no problem with strippers but not at the Oscars."

Piers then turned his attention to the old Hollywood days of the iconic awards ceremony as he said: "Look at the Oscars back in the fifties. It’s a completely different vibe.

"The great thing about the old stars was that they didn’t feel that desperation first to be noticed, they didn’t need it. Now it’s all like look at my naked flesh, not even look at my talent and my glamour and my beauty."

Slamming Emily, Piers fumed: "What is Emily Ratajkowski doing there anyway? How does she qualify to be anywhere near an Oscars party? She turned up in more clothes than she normally wears i.e - not very many - but what’s she doing there?

"It’s like Kim Kardashian or something – ridiculous."

Following Piers' controversial 'stripper' comment, chaos and commotion ensued on Twitter, with social media users branding the TV star as a 'raging misogynist'.

"Piers Morgan is nothing but a bully and a raging misogynist. How dare he comment on what these beautiful and talented women wear. It is quite literally none of his business," one Twitter user fumed.

"Piers, for once and for all, please shut up. You of all people have no right to call these women strippers," another raged.

"Not Piers Morgan slut-shaming some of the most talented and beautiful women in Hollywood," someone else tweeted.

While a fourth clapped back: "Ummmm take a look in the mirror mate. You are NOONE to judge on looks hahahah."

However, others appeared to agree with Piers, insisting that the fashion was ' a bit too much' at this year's awards.

"I agree. Way too much skin on show," one fan shared. While another echoed: "Can't help but agree with everything Piers has said. Not the time or place to be half-naked.
