We've all dreamt that adorable meet-cute moment of bumping into a stranger, having instant chemistry and falling in love immediately. It's the stuff of romance movies, but it's not usually how things pan out in real life.

It's enough to make many go all giggly and feel slightly swoony, but one woman on TikTok was left less than impressed when she realised a barista at Starbucks was flirting with her after she spotted a "smooth" message on her coffee cup without her even noticing.

The "secret message" was alongside an arrow that travelled all the way down to the bottom of the cup - and when she read it, she was left red-faced.

At the bottom, text was circled which would usually tell customers: "Careful, the beverage you're about to enjoy is extremely hot."

But instead, the Starbucks employee had crossed out several of the words so that the message read: "Careful, you're extremely hot."

The woman, who posts on TikTok under the username @chance_twins alongside her twin sister said that she'd have to avoid going to this Starbucks in the future as she couldn't face the barista again.

She captioned the video: "What just happened at Starbucks? Never going back there."

Commenters on the video were divided over the gesture, and while some thought it was "cute", others wondered how many other people the barista had tried his luck with.

One person said: "That was smooth, not going to lie."

"It's cute, girls say guys never do anything. He just put his heart out to you", another agreed.

A sceptic wrote: "I'm wondering how many other girls he did that to."

The Mirror has contacted Starbucks for comment.
