Set pictures from the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic show actor Marisa Abela, who plays the singer, swig vodka from the bottle alone at night.

The cameras rolling, Marisa looks dishevelled as she walks through Camden in an animal print top, a pair of joggers, pink hoop earrings and slipper-like shoes, while holding a bottle of spirit.

Marisa's hair was down, and her Amy look troubled as she drank from the bottle.

The film, called Back to Black, is directed by Sam Taylor- Johnson, and also stars Jack O'Connell as Amy's husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

In January, photos of scenes depicting Blake being taken away in handcuffs while Marisa's Amy looks on distressed sparked a backlash.

Cast and crew were spotted filming the tense moments outside Amy's former home in Camden, North London, with Marisa's Amy, said to have been screaming in the scene and begging officers not to take away her partner.

It's believed that the scenes could be related to Blake's 2007 arrest over a £200,000 plot to fix a trial.

The photos, which show Marisa sporting Amy's signature beehive hairstyle and an animal print dress, sparked fury from fans of the singer, with one person saying the scenes were "revolting".

Another said: "Amy Winehouse was incredible. I’m sure there are plenty of us who won’t watch this trash when it comes out."

One fan penned: "I was planning to ignore that Amy Winehouse movie anyway. It was completely unnecessary. Who even asked for that?"

A third said: "I’m so sick of biopics & trauma-porn. Stop exploiting DEAD women. Let Amy Winehouse rest in peace !!"

In 2008 Blake was jailed after he admitted grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice in a £200,000 trial-fixing plot.

He admitted beating up a barman and then plotting to bribe him £200,000 not to testify.

Blake and Amy were married between 2007 and 2009. The iconic singer died in 2011, at the age of 27.

The biopic has the backing of Amy's dad, Mitch Winehouse.

He told the Mirror: "It's something we're excited about as a family because it will concentrate on Amy's talent. And when all is said and done, that’s what we are left with."

Mitch - who will be portrayed on screen by Eddie Marsan, added: "It will be amazing for fans to relive her genius and introduce her music to a whole new generation."

Filming began this year, and fans have already been given their first look at Marisa's portrayal, with set photos showing her sporting Amy's signature hairstyle.

Some of Amy's fans weren’t convinced over the suitability of Marisa, arguing she does look like Amy or have her trademark soulful voice.

Mitch said: “When Marisa started, I said to the producer, ‘But she can’t sing.’ And she replied, ‘She’s having lessons…’.” He has since agreed that “she’s a lot better”.
