New photos from the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic which depict a harrowing time in the singer's life have sparked backlash.

Set pictures from Back to Black show actor Jack O'Connell, as Amy's husband Blake Fielder-Civil, being taken away by police in handcuffs, with Marisa Abela's Amy distressed.

Last week, cast and crew were spotted filming the tense moments outside Amy's former home in Camden, North London, with Marisa's Amy said to have been screaming in the scene and begging officers not to take away her partner.

It's believed that the scenes could be related to Blake's 2007 arrest over a £200,000 plot to fix a trial.

The photos, which show Marisa sporting Amy's signature beehive hairstyle and an animal print dress, have now sparked fury from fans of the singer.

on Twitter, one person shared the snaps, and wrote: "This f**king revolting."

One person replied: "Amy Winehouse was incredible. I’m sure there are plenty of us who won’t watch this trash when it comes out."

Another added: "I’m so sick of biopics & trauma-porn. Stop exploiting DEAD women. Let Amy Winehouse rest in peace !!"

One Amy fan said: "We can ignore the fact that she looks nothing like Amy but talking about this part of her life in the movie is just wrong and unacceptable THIS IS NOT WHAT MADE AMY WINEHOUSE THE AMY F**KING WINEHOUSE."

A fourth wrote: "I was planning to ignore that Amy Winehouse movie anyway. It was completely unnecessary. Who even asked for that?"

In 2008 Blake was jailed after he admitted grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice in a £200,000 trial-fixing plot.

He admitted beating up a barman then plotting to bribe him £200,000 not to testify.

Blake and Amy were married between 2007 and 2009. The iconic singer died in 2011, at the age of 27.

The Back to Black biopic has the backing of Amy's dad, Mitch Winehouse.

He told the Mirror: "It's something we're excited about as a family because it will concentrate on Amy's talent. And when all is said and done, that’s what we are left with."

Mitch - who will be portrayed on screen by Eddie Marsan, 54 - added: "It will be amazing for fans to relive her genius and introduce her music to a whole new generation."

The film is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson - whose credits include the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy. Sam has said she's "excited and humbled" to work on the project.

Filming began earlier this month and fans have already been given their first look at Marisa's portrayal, with set photos showing her sporting Amy's signature hairstyle.

In the scenes last week, Jack's O' Connell's character is taken away in handcuffs by police while wearing a checkered shirt and a dark cardigan before being rushed off to a police station.

One of the photos from the filming of the film shows Marisa up close to the police vehicle.
