Art Attack legend Neil Buchanan is unrecognisable since quitting his TV role for a spot in a rock band.

The previous kids’ TV presenter, now 66-years-old, rose to fame in the 1990s on the CITV series.

He led a whopping 19 seasons of the British art series before it ended in 2007, and made himself a household name after 17 years on the ITV series.

Famed by his clean-shaven look and bright red jumper, Neil now couldn’t be further away from his humble beginnings.

Taking to performing with heavy rock band Marseilles, he is worlds away from his former appearance.

The former TV star now rocks lengthy locks which cover his forehead, alongside sporting rugged stubble.

The musician keeps fans in the loop via his social media channels, and still posts some of his personal artwork, too.

Neil even sketches professionally, in-between shows with his band.

He first joined Marseilles back in 1976, with the group going on to release four albums and six singles together.

The band have also performed in support of the likes of Judas Priest, Nazareth, Whitesnake and UFO on tour.

It comes as Neil was forced to deny he was Banksy after a social media rumour gained traction.

was abuzz with a theory linking the two after a fan noticed that Banksy's art was popping up in locations where Neil had performed his music.

Neil became a familiar face in many households between 1990 and 2007, as the presenter of much-loved ITV's kids' series Art Attack.

The talented artist taught viewers tricks with paints, how to draw cartoons and created 'big art attacks' out of everyday objects.

A statement on Neil's website poured water over the claims.

"Neil Buchanan is NOT Banksy," the message read. "We have been inundated with inquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story.

"Unfortunately this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these inquiries individually, however we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever.

"Neil spent lockdown with vulnerable members of his family and is now preparing to launch his new art collection in 2021."
