Wayne Lineker slammed for 'creepy' comment on Molly-Mae and Tommy's baby news

Wayne Lineker has confused some people thanks to his unusual message to new parents Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury.

The former Love Island stars officially announced the birth of their baby on Monday night, following Tommy's boxing rival Jake Paul letting the news slip last week that Molly-Mae gave birth on January 23.

Jake - who is set to meet Tommy in the ring next month - left a cheeky comment underneath the Instagram post, but it was Gary Lineker 's brother who got everyone talking online as Molly-Mae shared the first images of her daughter.

As the likes of Stacey Solomon, Gemma Owen and Maura Higgins led the celebrities gushing over Molly-Mae and Tommy's new bundle of joy, Wayne, 60, added his own comment.

"Amazing guys," the club owner began writing on Instagram. "Congratulations. That’s gonna be one good looking baby [love heart emoji]."

Molly-Mae and Tommy's fans were quick to reply to Wayne's message - with some slamming the 60-year-old grandad over his choice of words.

"I dunno mate seems a bit dodgy that," one Instagram user told Wayne, quoting a scene from The Inbetweeners.

"hahaha what a f***ing creep," another declared, with a third adding: "wrong un."

"Why are you so gross," one critic asked Wayne directly on Monday.

However, some Instagram users defended Wayne and pointed out his message is a phrase many use when congratulating a couple on the birth of their child.

"You people in the replies are awful. It's a birth announcement. Have respect," one fan hit back at Wayne's critics in the comments.

Another agreed, writing: "How is saying that the baby will be good looking weird?? Nothing weird about it atall both parents are good looking people it’s a comment to say the baby will inherit the beauty of them both …. that’s all!!"

Over on Twitter, on internet user joked: "Wayne lineker thinking about O beach 2041."

Wayne is the proud owner of club O Beach in Ibiza - a favourite with footballers, celebrities like Ed Sheeran and Wayne's former rumoured love interest Chloe Ferry.

The club owner divided fans last year thanks to his unusual tribute to Queen Elizabeth II following the monarch's death in September.

In the wake of the late head of state's passing, Wayne and his co-owners at his O Beach Ibiza beach club opted to pay tribute to the Queen in a bizarre fashion.

A video from the moment, which took place at his beach club, showed a line of bikini-clad women marching through a packed crowd and on to a stage.

The women wore military-inspired costumes, which mimicked the uniforms worn by the King's Guard regiment who wear tall, black bearskin hats.

Speaking to the crowd at one point, Wayne's business partner Tony told club goers: "It doesn't matter if you're British, Irish, Scottish, Italian, Spanish – wherever you are in the world I think you will all appreciate that one of the greatest, iconic women who's ever lived this world left our planet yesterday.

"Lets hear it for Queen Elizabeth II!"

The venue errupted before Tony gestured to a giant inflatable London bus suspended in the air.

"If you look up you'll see the giant red London bus," he explained. "You'll see Mary Poppins, you'll see the amazing girls from the stage as Beefeaters [sic] so let's hear it for Queen Elizabeth II," he says incorrectly referring to the uniform costumes the women are wearing.

The lineup of women then saluted as the British national anthem God Save the Queen played.
