My 600lb Life's Dottie unrecognisable in glam selfie after 21 stone weight loss
Dottie Perkins, who weighed more than 42 stone (600lb) when she first appeared on My 600lb Life, looks unrecognisable after turning her life around.
The TLC reality star endured a number of tragedies throughout her life, forcing her into unhealthy eating habits and causing her weight to soar.
By the time she was 18, Dottie weighed more than 21 stone (300lb) and had been hospitalised because of her weight several times.
She credits her unhealthy habits to not receiving the love and affection she needed from her family growing up.
Dottie also lost her 13-year-old son after he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and scoliosis, making her health battle even more difficult.

"It hurt a lot, and food is what comforted me.
Dottie weighed more than 600lb when she appeared on the show (TLC)"At one point I was putting on a couple of pounds every week.
"By the time I was 18 I was well over 300lbs. I remember just eating and eating and eating so much. And I had just never been able to stop," she said during the reality series.
During her time on My 600lb Life, Dottie managed to get her weight to less than 300lb for the first time since she was a teenager.
Now, she looks slimmer than ever after shedding more than 21 stone.

In another snap, she enjoyed some time in the sun, posing with a pair of sunglasses on top of her head.
Following her time on My 600lb Life, Dottie has gone on to marry Chris Potts.
While Dottie seems to have continued her health journey, not everything has been smooth sailing.

Dottie is one of several people who appeared on the programme who ended up filing a lawsuit against the company, claiming they experienced emotional turmoil during filming.
Dottie’s lawsuit claimed the producers misrepresented her weight loss journey.
She claimed she steadily lost weight but was shown in the series to have gained weight at some points.
Her filing also mentioned how Megalomedia promised to pay the medical expenses related to her various surgeries, but claimed the company left her with a massive amount of medical debt.
In 2020, a judge denied the company’s request to dismiss the lawsuits, although this has since been overturned.
Megalomedia claimed the show’s subjects signed a number of agreements before appearing in the series.
