A British takeaway chef has gone viral and gained millions of views on TikTok for mimicking millionaire Salt Bae - and he says he is just as good.

Razu Kamali has dubbed himself as 'Salt Bahi', which means “salt brother” in Bengali, and he looks strikingly similar to the celebrity chef.

Wearing round black sunglasses, black rubber gloves and a turned-round baseball cap, Razu has even mastered Salt Bae's seasoning technique which he has become renown for worldwide.

Nusret Gökçe, or Salt Bae as he is more commonly known, is a Turkish butcher, chef and restaurant owner who went viral in 2017 for his distinguished way of sprinkling salt.

He is famous for his eye-wateringly expensive restaurants where you can buy burgers and steaks covered in gold leaf that are sliced by chefs in front of you.

Lookalike Razu, a 44-year-old head chef originally from Bangladesh, regularly posts videos of himself and his food online and has racked up more than 21 million views.

Customers have flocked to Bank Grill in Oldham, where Razu works, as a result of the viral fame, and many go to meet Salt Bahi and pose for pictures.

The one difference between Salt Bahi and Salt Bae, however, is Razu sprinkles sesame seeds over the food instead of salt.

Boss Tayyab Ali, 27, told the Sun: “It’s done so well for us. We have had more than 20million views and its helped us attract new customers.”

He added: “We have an open kitchen so you can see all the food being prepared and meet him.

“When customers come in, he will put his glasses on and get into character and have a picture with them.”

Tayyab and Razu came up with the idea during lockdown and now regularly post videos on TikTok.

Their videos have been liked 1.1 million times and one video, posted earlier this month, has racked up more than 21 million views alone.

The takeaway is also much cheaper than Salt Bae’s restaurants, with the Knightsbridge location charging £690 for a giant tomahawk.

In comparison, Bank Grill charge £14.95 for its speciality Mix Mash Up, which includes shredded mix steak, lamb chops, Seekh kebab, 1/4 grilled chicken and five chicken wings.
