Arsenal have completed two transfers in the January window but are not ready to stop there.

Jakub Kiwior was unveiled on Monday after the Gunners tied up a £21million deal with Italian side Spezia for the Poland international defender. He joined Leandro Trossard at the club, with the Belgian signing for a fee which could reach £27m last week.

The Gunners started the window chasing Mykhaylo Mudryk, but have moved fast to other targets after Chelsea hijacked the deal by paying £87m for the Ukrainian winger. Sporting director Edu might not be done yet, either, with six days left to complete business.

Arsenal still want to add depth at right-back, while midfielders are a long-term goal. It is not just Declan Rice on the radar, though. Here are the latest rumours surrounding Arsenal.

Dortmund winning race for Arsenal target

Borussia Dortmund have beaten Arsenal and a whole host of other Premier League clubs to the signing of Ivan Fresneda, according to Marca.

Fresneda has been watched by lots of scouts recently, with Real Madrid and Newcastle among the other clubs interested in signing the Real Valladolid right-back.

He is poised to leave Valladolid and is valued at around €15million (£13.2m) – but there has been an almighty battle for the Spanish under-19 international’s signature. Arsenal are ‘still alive’ in the chase, but Dortmund’s proposition is reportedly the most attractive, with Fresneda and his entourage impressed by the route to the first team in Germany.

Dortmund have offered €10m plus €2m in bonuses and would send the 18-year-old back to Valladolid on loan until the end of the season.

Zubimendi open to move despite snub

Arsenal’s interest in Martin Zubimendi was knocked back over the weekend, with the midfielder preferring to stay with Real Sociedad this month.

Zubimendi has a €60m (£53m) release clause, which the Gunners reportedly do not see as prohibitive. The 23-year-old recently signed a new deal with the Spanish side and initially resisted interest from the Gunners.

That stance has now softened, according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that while he wants to ‘make history’ with Real Sociedad this season, he will ‘evaluate’ offers in the summer.

Barcelona are eyeing Zubimendi as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets, but it is believed that he is more sold on the idea of moving to the Premier League with Arsenal.

Gunners chasing Saints star

Arsenal will challenge Leeds and Manchester City for Southampton youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan, according to Sky Sports.

The 17-year-old forward has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in the Saints academy, but is now stalling on signing a first professional contract. The England youth international has attracted plenty of attention from other clubs and Southampton could lose him.

Morgan has 14 goals and 10 assists in 35 appearances for Southampton under-18s and B team and is considered one of the most exciting young players in the country.
