Man found dead 20 miles from Welsh castle after entering water fully dressed
A man who entered the water fully-dressed near a Welsh castle has been found dead 20 miles away two days later.
Cops were called to West Kirby Marine Lake in Merseyside last week after they were informed a man had been found unresponsive on the tidal side of the wall.
Paramedics, who had informed the police at around 3.50pm last Wednesday, sadly pronounced the man dead at the scene.
It is believed that he had entered the water near to Flint Castle in Wales – around 20 miles away – on the evening of Monday, September 14.
North Wales Police is now urging the public to help in its investigation.
They described the man as an Asian male, around 5ft10in tall and of a medium build.
He is also said to have been wearing a a black sweatshirt, ripped blue jeans, black trainers, and possibly in possession of a crossbody bag.
A spokesperson for the force said: “At 3.50pm on Wednesday 16 September, Merseyside Police were informed by the ambulance service that a male had been found unresponsive on the tidal side of the wall at West Kirby Marine Lake, Merseyside.
“He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
“It is believed he entered the water around the Flint Castle area during the evening of Monday, 14 September.”
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Griffith is appealing to anyone who may have seen him to get in touch.
He added: “We are aware from CCTV enquiries there were several people walking, cycling and driving around the area of Flint Castle at the time.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the man between 6pm and 9.30pm on Monday, 14 September.
“He was an Asian male, described to be around 5ft10 tall and of a medium build.
“He was wearing a black sweatshirt, ripped blue jeans, black trainers, and possibly in possession of a crossbody bag.
“I’m also appealing to anyone who might have any pictures, videos or dashcam around the castle between these times to contact us.
“Your information or images could be crucial in assisting our investigation.
“My thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
