Despite criminal cases in the West, he was given a grand reception in the Russian capital

The controversial American-British blogger Andrew Tate, who is accused in Romania of human trafficking and forming an organized criminal group, arrived in Russia ahead of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

A grand reception in Moscow

Tate flew to Moscow along with his brother Tristan. At the airport, the guests were welcomed with bread and salt, folk songs, dances, and performances by folklore ensembles.

The blogger himself shared a video of the reception on his social media and captioned it with the phrase: "Make new friends, but don’t lose the old ones." As of now, there is no official confirmation of Tate’s participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Scandalous reputation and criminal cases

Andrew Tate gained widespread popularity due to his provocative statements about women. He has repeatedly claimed that women "belong" to men and has also shifted some of the responsibility for sexual assault onto the victims themselves.

In 2022, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok blocked his accounts for violating platform rules and spreading misogynistic content. Later, after the change in Twitter’s ownership, his page was restored. Currently, nearly 11 million users subscribe to Tate’s account.

In December 2022, Romanian law enforcement detained brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate. They were charged with human trafficking, sexual exploitation of women, and the creation of an organized criminal group.

Until the beginning of 2025, the brothers were prohibited from leaving the territory of Romania. These restrictions were subsequently lifted, after which they were able to travel to the United States. According to Western media, the issue of their movement was raised by representatives of the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, whom Andrew Tate publicly supports.
