Andrew Tate has sent a supportive message to YouTube star Jake Paul after his defeat by Tommy Fury.

YouTube star Paul settled his bitter rivalry with Fury last Sunday but ultimately came up short after losing by split-decision in Saudi Arabia. It was a devastating result for the influencer who will now have to bounce back from his first career defeat.

It now seems likely Paul will pursue a shot at immediate redemption after confirming his intention to activate the rematch clause he placed in the fight contract. And controversial ex-kickboxer Tate, who is currently in detention in Romania, has urged Paul to keep his chin up with some words of encouragement on social media.

He tweeted:"Always winning isn’t the point of God’s battles, the point of God’s battles is so you can show him the strength of your heart when you lose, Jake Paul." Tate is currently in jail in Romania with his brother Tristan as he awaits a trial for allegations of rape and human trafficking.

Tate was heavily linked to a fight with Paul given his background in fighting and his profile on social media, with the pair initially going back and forth in a heated feud. However Tate and Paul were brought together in a face-to-face as official fight talks appeared to materialise, but the British-born star will now be unable to pursue any showdown until he is released from prison.

Despite suffering a maiden defeat in his YouTube boxing career, there are still several options on the table for Paul who could still take on a YouTube mega-fight with long-term foe KSI. The pair had already agreed to a winner-takes-all deal prior to his recent win over Fury, but KSI had suggested that he could look instead to fight Fury if he won.

But Paul has insisted his primary focus is avenging the loss before he can move on and explore any potential shot at KSI before the end of the year. He said: "I have to try and get this one back, but KSI is yet to fight a real opponent so we don't know his skill level. I just spoke to Tommy and he is ready to do it again."

"That will be the focus first and foremost to try and get that win. I have to go back and look at the tape and disect it, but I know when I am having an amazing night I can do it. I don't want to sit here and make excuses but I know I can be better."
