Love Island 2023 fans were a bit confused as two new bombshells entered the villa on Sunday night.

The ITV2 dating series welcomed two past contestants from the Australian version of the show, as the two ex-Islanders gatecrashed the pool party.

Aaron Waters and Jessie Wynter rocked up to surprise the cast as two new contestants ready to mix things up, and hopefully find love along the way.

They joined the existing girls Tanya Manhenga, Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown, Lana Jenkins, Anna-May Robey, Tanyel Revan and Olivia Hawkins, as well as the boys Kai Fagan, Ron Hall, Will Young, Shaq Muhammad, Tom Clare and Haris Namani.

Aaron appeared on the Australian Love Island in 2021, while Jessie was on the same show in 2019.

But viewers of the show were all asking the same thing, as the new Islanders got to know the boys and girls.

Fans of the show called the move "pointless", believing the distance between Australia and the UK would stop the bombshells from making a connection with any of the Islanders.

One fan tweeted about it: "WHAT!? love island Australia bombshells!? what's the point when they live across the globe!?"

Another Twitter user agreed: "How's it gonna work out if one of the Australian's make a connection when they live thousands of miles away."

A third viewer said: "Why would they put 2 ex islanders from Australia in? Long distance between U.K. and Australia will never work out."

Meanwhile a fourth fan said: "Why is there people coming in from Australia?? How is someone from England and Australia supposed to maintain a relationship."

It comes following the first dumping of the series so far on Friday night, as a result of the first recoupling.

David Salako was sent home after he was not picked by any of the girls in the villa, amid explosive scenes.

The 24-year-old money adviser who hails from Essex became the first Islander to be booted off the show, despite only being in for a couple of days.

He was visibly gutted by the twist and seemed shocked, given he thought he had something good going on with Tanya.

Tanya had told him she was open to getting to know him, while she was still keen on Shaq - who she’d been paired up with since day one.

When it came to Tanya picking who to pair up with, she went with Shaq leaving David visibly surprised and upset.

David wasn’t the only one left emotional by the recouping though, as Lana was left in tears thanks to Tanyel.

Tanyel chose Ron Hall after her partner Kai was taken by Anna-May.

While Tanyel had expressed an interest in Ron to some Islanders, it came a shock to him and Lana as they had just told the villa they’d shared their first kiss.

Lana fought back tears and made a jibe at Tanyel, as she picked Will - sending David home.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
