Millions of Americans are expected to take part in over 2,500 “No Kings” protests across all 50 states on Saturday, opposing what organisers call Donald Trump’s growing authoritarianism.

The No Kings coalition, backed by more than 200 progressive groups including Indivisible, the ACLU and major unions, urges participants to wear yellow as a symbol of unity and democracy.

Anchor demonstrations are planned in Washington DC, New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Boston and Honolulu. Organisers expect one of the largest single-day protests in US history.

The movement denounces Trump’s use of federal forces, deportation campaigns, and power grabs, saying “America belongs to its people, not to kings.”

Republican leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, criticised the rallies as divisive, while organisers insist the events will remain peaceful and non-violent.
