A host of big stars watched on as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles at the Super Bowl on Sunday as Rihanna made her live comeback in the halftime show.

Jay-Z enjoyed American football's biggest night with his daughter Blue Ivy Carter while Beatle Paul McCartney watched the game with his wife Nancy Shevell.

Jay-Z, who shares Blue Ivy and twins Sir and Rumi with wife Beyoncé, is often seen at NBA games with his oldest daughter. He's attended the last three Super Bowls with Blue Ivy and the pair wore matching black shades.

The Hip Hop mogul prompted his entertainment agency Roc Nation on his black hoodie while Blue Ivy wore an oversized hoodie emblazoned with a Tupac graphic.

Hollywood stars Bradley Cooper watched the game from a private suite wearing a Philadelphia Eagles T-shirt while lifelong Kansas City Chiefs supporter Paul Rudd made his support clear with a white jersey with red and white stripes on the sleeves.

Adele and Billie Eilish were also among the famous faces that flew to Glendale, Arizona to watch the important match.

The Easy on Me singer wore a grey structured blazer with oversized sunglasses and hoops to finish off the look.

Cara Delevinge made no secret of her true motive for attending the Super Bowl as she shared a picture of herself wearing a Rihanna T-shirt on Instagram.

"Rihanna concert interrupted by a football game. Weird but whatever," emblazoned the T-shirt.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay rubbed shoulders with Jay-Z and his daughter Blue Ivy as well as cheering up from the sidelines in a dark T-shirt and black aviator shades.

Rihanna delivered hit after hit in the halftime show on Sunday as the singer revealed she is expecting her second child, nine months after welcoming a son with partner A$AP Rocky.

In an interview ahead of her performance, Rihanna teased: "I'm thinking about bringing someone. I'm not sure we'll see."

Fans suspected the Umbrella hit maker was referring to one of her many collaborators as the halftime show has a tradition with surprising viewers with unexpected duets.

The singer failed to debut any new music but instead performed 12 of her hits in the 14-minute slot.

She performed Run This Town, All of the Lights and Wild Thoughts but Jay-Z, Ye and DJ Khaled, who feature on those tracks did not join Rihanna on stage.
