Levi Roots has doubled down - and then tripled down - on his view that Colson Smith is boring in a brutal Celebrity Big Brother exit interview.

The 65-year-old businessman ruffled feathers in the house when he branded 25-year-old Coronation Street star Colson “boring” in a task. He had been asked to pick out the contestant that he found the most boring, and in a backhanded compliment he said he didn’t think Colson was boring, but picked him because he would have said he thought he was boring two days earlier. His mind had been changed after they completed a singing task together - but ultimately his choice that Colson was the most ‘boring’ stung the soap star.

Viewers saw Colson break down in tears and have old insecurities reignited by Levi’s comments - and ultimately it led to Levi being nominated for Friday’s eviction as Colson nominated him alongside one other star. After receiving the least votes from the public, Levi was booted from the house and then sat down with hosts AJ Odudu, 36, and Will Best, 39, for a post eviction chat.

The hosts raised the fact that Levi had branded Colson boring - offering him a chance to deny he thoughts Colson was boring. But instead, he doubled down. Levi said: “I called him boring. And he really was. He was really boring.”

The live studio audience immediately started booing - but Levi continued to explain himself. He said: “By the time we got to that singing competition, he couldn’t even walk, he had two left feet. I had to take him to the bathroom and I really went through with him with the lyrics and how to walk. I got him to a position where we won the competition because of that.”

Levi then went on to clarify he’d intended to make Colson feel better about himself when he singled him out as the most boring housemate. He said: “I was trying to big him up… out of the whole group, he made us win… That made him not boring. I was trying to express to him that he had overcome the situation and he had become a new person.”

AJ and Will then asked Levi if he was surprised to see Colson so hurt by his assessment. He said: “I thought he didn’t see the full picture of what I was said. He only heard the word that was picked. He didn’t understand that I was saying that he was the most fantastic person in the band.”

Asked if he would still choose Colson as the most boring housemate, Levi confirmed that he would. But he added: “I would say it was him. I have to be honest. I wouldn’t have used those words. I would have said it in a different way.”

Levi wasn't the only housemate to be eliminated from the house on Friday - as Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was also voted out. In an astonishing exit interview, the reality star continued to complain about the fact that she had the opinion everyone regarded her as nothing more than a Love Island star and she insisted she was much more than that, but continued to mention Love Island repeatedly during her chat.

Asked if she was glad to be out of the house, she said: "You can’t predict life. Jut because I won Love Island doesn’t mean I can win everything else. I’m glad I’m out. It proves just because you win a show doesn’t mean you’ll win another and it’s about the
