The Princess of Wales has found herself embroiled in a Photoshop scandal and one expert believes Meghan Markle "never would have ended up in this scenario".

Kate was forced to apologise after releasing an altered image of herself and her three children on Mother's Day. Royal fans had taken to social media to discuss the "errors" they spotted in the snap and it was axed by multiple photo agencies just hours after it was posted.

PR expert Matt Yanofsky has said Meghan would never have been caught up in this scandal and suggested she "ran circles around the palace". Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: "She comes from Hollywood, not England provinces.

"She understands the press better than anyone." Matt added: "Additionally she's surrounded by young people, not stodgy old Royal PR flacks.

"Love her or hate her, there's a reason Meghan ran circles around the palace. The palace needs to hire some digital press consultants, A.S.A.P. He joked: "Maybe with the US shuttering TikTok, the palace could hire some unemployed TikTokers?"

Matt's comments come after Meghan and Harry issued a statement on Princess Kate's photogate scandal. Page Six claimed sources close to the couple said: "This isn’t a mistake Meghan would ever make."

They added: "If Harry and Meghan had ever encountered the same issue they would have been annihilated. The same rules do not apply to both couples."

However, a spokesperson for Meghan and Harry revealed they did not authorise the comments. Speaking to Newsweek, a spokesperson said: "With respect to Page Six, that did not come from us."

The outlet has also noted the Page Six quotes might have come from "someone connected to the Sussexes, expressing a personal opinion, who was not officially authorised to speak on their behalf". The statement comes after the Princess of Wales released her own apology over the scandal.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, she said: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
