Piers Morgan says Prince William 'shouldn't forgive' Prince Harry in new rant

Piers Morgan has insisted Prince William “is right” not to forgive Prince Harry in a furious new rant.

The outspoken broadcaster took aim at Harry and Meghan over the ill-timing of their business relaunch on the same day William gave an emotional speech about Princess Diana at her legacy awards in London.

William said his mother “taught me that everyone has the potential to give something back, that everyone in need deserves a supporting hand in life” and that her legacy “is something that both Catherine and I have sought to focus on through our work”.

Harry also made a brief appearance, but only via video link from America where he now lives. It is thought the brothers will not share a stage or present any awards together on behalf of the charity, set up in their mother’s memory 25 years ago.

However, William’s tribute to his late mother was overshadowed by Harry and Meghan, who made two huge announcements on the same day. Just moments before William’s speech, the pair announced the winner of their $100,000 Archewell Foundation Digital Civil Rights Award. While Meghan went live with her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Meghan’s new venture is thought to be a reimagining of her lifestyle blog, The Tig, that she shut down in 2017 as she prepared to marry Prince Harry. It's believed the project will tie in with a new cooking show with Netflix.

In his latest column for The Sun, Piers said William has had to “silently endure” he and his wife Kate being “repeatedly attacked” and expressed how “sad” it was to see “Diana’s beloved sons so estranged they can’t even pay tribute to her memory at the same time”.

Blasting Harry for “all the putrid garbage Harry and Meghan have slung at the royals the past few years”, he asked: “Why is anyone remotely surprised Prince William would rather stick his head in an exploding volcano that occupy the same orbit as his brother?”

He continued: “Yes, I know, lots of people wish William could find it in his bruised, angry heart to be the bigger man and forgive Harry. But honestly, if one of my two brothers had done to me and my family what the treasonous Duke of Hypocrisy had done to his family, there’s not a cat in hell’s chance of me ever forgiving them (and they would feel the same if it was the other way round).”

Listing what William, Kate and the rest of the Royal Family have had to endure in recent years, Piers ranted about the "Oprah whine-a-thon", the "royal privacy-shredding six-part Netflix series" and Harry’s "kiss-and-tell book", plus “the fact they’ve lined their pockets with gazillions of grubby dollars in the process makes the selling out of their family even more despicable” and ended the post by saying: “So no, William shouldn’t just forgive and forget. He should keep Harry in the self-imposed social Siberia that his loathsome disloyalty deserves.”

Buckingham Palace has refused to comment on Meghan Markle's new business venture amid claims it breaches the deal she made with the late Queen. Following their departure from ‘The Firm’ in March 2020 as they bid to become financially independent, the pair are thought to have agreed to never use their royal titles for profit.

But American Riviera Orchard notifies subscribers about "products", which some commentators have called a “clear breach” of their agreement. A spokesperson for the Palace said they did not wish to comment on the matter.
