Prince Harry and his brother Prince William can't bear to be in the same room together - even for the sake of their beloved mum Princess Diana.

The Prince of Wales will attend Diana's memorial event at the Science Museum in London tonight and the Duke of Sussex will appear from his home in California via video link. But even with over 5,000 miles between them, the brothers won't appear at the event at the same time. William is expected to give a speech and present awards but will leave the ceremony before Harry joins a video call with the winners.

And now royal expert and author Tom Quinn exclusively tells The Mirror the event has been especially coordinated so the feuding brothers can avoid eachother. "William and Harry just cannot bear to be in the same room together because they have said unforgivable things to each other, but they are also conscious that if they did attend the Diana event together, the world would be watching for the inevitable awkwardness, the inevitable coldness and refusal to look into each other’s eyes," Quinn tells us.

The brothers have not appeared in public together since they greeted well-wishers following the Queen's death in September 2022. It was the last time William and Harry - and Princess Kate and Meghan Markle - appeared in public together. And so the brothers weren't keen to reunite in front of the world at tonight's event.

"William and Harry just don’t want the headlines that would inevitably follow a meeting that showed anything less than a warm embrace and a warm embrace is something they know they can’t do," Quinn tells us. "Photographs of the two bothers looking awkward and cold, and avoiding each other’s eyes would look exactly like those terrible pictures of their parents in the run up to their split."

Harry hinted at the emotional toll of his parents Charles and Diana's divorce as he spoke publicly about the split in a documentary in 2017. Harry told the Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy documentary that aired on ITV: "There was the point where our parents split and... we never saw our mother enough or we never saw our father enough. There was a lot of travelling and a lot of fights on the back seat with my brother, which I would win. There was all that to contend with. I don’t pretend we’re the only people to have to deal with that, but it was an interesting way of growing up."
