Christian Eriksen situation at Man Utd slammed as manager raises fresh concerns
Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand has slammed Christian Eriksen's situation at Manchester United after naming the midfielder in his latest squad.
The former Tottenham and Inter Milan playmaker has endured a difficult second season at Old Trafford. He has made 20 appearances in all competitions - just 11 of which have been starts - and has just one goal to his name.
Eriksen has been afforded only two outings this calendar year. The most recent of those came in the 2-1 defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford last month.
Despite that, Eriksen has still been named in the most recent Denmark squad for the upcoming international break. Kasper Hjulmand’s side take on Switzerland and the Faroe Islands in friendly fixtures.
The Danish boss has shared his concern about Eriksen’s lack of game time and is hopeful of a resolution sooner rather than later. Speaking to Tipsbladet, Hjulmand said: "It's not the best situation as it is right now. I really, really hope that changes. I'm pretty sure we'll see a fit Christian. I know he is.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dash"But of course, if it continues, it can become like it is with everyone else for Christian. There can be a concern about the level one can perform at if they don't get more playing time than what it is currently.
"I really hope it changes. A player as talented as Christian needs to play, and we certainly hope it changes at United. But it's not the best situation not to have played more."
Eriksen, 32, enjoyed a positive debut campaign at Old Trafford after arriving on a free transfer from Brentford. He made 44 appearances across his first season, scoring twice and providing ten assists.

The 126-time Danish international is out of contract next summer. The Red Devils are expected to bolster their midfield options this summer, which could potentially force him further down the pecking order.
Reports in Denmark have claimed that he could potentially look for a move should his situation not improve. Speaking about his time playing under Ten Hag last year, Eriksen said: “You might want to ask the manager for his opinion. Our defence has suffered due to injuries.
“Though we’ve conceded more goals than we’d like, my health is in top condition, and I wish to be on the field for every match. If you’ve been keeping tabs on our games, you’d notice that the manager [Ten Hag] prefers a player with a different style than mine.”
