Ex-Man Utd star agrees with Solskjaer after Man Utd and Liverpool comparison
Dwight Yorke believes that Manchester United could win a Premier League title within three years following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.
The billionaire businessman purchased 27.7 per cent of the Old Trafford club for £1.25bn and looked to reinvigorate United since his investment. Ratcliffe, who also owns Nice, has seen Omar Berrada arrive from Manchester City as CEO, and hopes to add Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth who has been placed on gardening leave as a result.
The 13-time Premier League title winners have not lifted the trophy for more than a decade and Yorke believes that could soon change. Ratcliffe stated his ambitions to knock City and Liverpool off of the perch.
Former United striker Yorke is less sure whether Erik ten Hag will be the figure to earn such success however. The ex-Trinidad and Tobago international expects a decision at the end of the season.
Yorke exclusively told Ladbrokes Fanzone: "I'm very optimistic, now. With the part-ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and having listened to him speak for the first time, I have to say I was very impressed. I've taken a lot more inspiration, and encouragement from him.

"Under his guide, and his leadership, I can see Man United back in the winners' circle within three years. Whether that's with or without Erik ten Hag, I cannot say.
"These types of decisions are made by people above our pay grades, but I do think that he'll ultimately be judged at the end of this season, as to whether or not he's the man to take the club forward."
Solskjaer celebrates 1999 Champions League winning goal (Sunday Mirror)It's not the first time someone has predicted United to find success in recent years. Speaking in 2020 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated his ambition to ensure that United would not undergo a Liverpool-like fallow period.
The Reds went 30 years between top flight titles. Solskjaer anticipated then that it would take time for the club to reach the pinnacle but did not predict an extreme stint.
"That's what we're working hard to make sure doesn't happen," Solskjaer said. "And let that be a lesson for us that we can't let ourselves go another 24 years until we win the league and I’m sure we won’t.
"I believe in this club, I believe that we are rebuilding now, we’ve started something that’s going to take a little bit of time but we’ll get there."
The rebuild is underway once again as Ratcliffe looks to transform United's footballing operations. Transfers have come under a great deal of criticism in recent years and in addition to Ashworth, the Red Devils have been widely linked to also adding Dougie Freedman from Crystal Palace to their recruitment department.
It is in this area where Yorke believes that United have room for improvement. " Declan Rice is a terrific player and you can see already what he brings to this Arsenal team," he said.
"I had a couple of questions around him, I'll admit, but he's proven he's a quality player. He's someone who has been linked with Manchester United in the past. So, who are the decision-makers at the club? Who are the people who are not signing the cheques for these guys, especially when we're bringing in other players for these ridiculous fees?
"Why are we not going the extra mile to sign these guys? We keep being linked with them, you know, you hear about Rice, you hear about Jude Bellingham, you hear about Erling Haaland... so why aren't we getting these players? Especially when we're going and spending upwards of £75m on players who no other top clubs are really interested in?!
