Louis Walsh ignites furious feud with Jedward as he says 'vile' duo made him £5m
Celebrity Big Brother star Louis Walsh sparks bitter war of words with X Factor stars Jedward - branding them ‘vile’ and they called him ‘cold hearted’.
The 71-year-old music manager was a judge on The X Factor in 2009 when Irish twins John and Edward Grimes, 32, were contestants. As part of the groups, Louis was in charge of Jedward and championed them to win the series - however they bombed out in the sixth week while Joe McElderry, 32, went on to win the show.
This year, ITV revived Celebrity Big Brother and sent Louis into the house as one of the contestants. In scenes that aired on Tuesday, Louis was shown interacting with 25-year-old Coronation Street actor Colson Smith - with the soap star asking him about his time on The X Factor.
Turning to Louis in the kitchen, Colson asked: “What were Jedward like?” And much to the shock of fans watching the show, Louis bluntly said: “They were vile.” Colson gasped and then said: “But they’ve done well.”

Colson then gasped: “F**king hell. I wish I had a Jedward.” But Louis only doubled down. He sneered: “And they were vile. They were novelty. But great for the show.”
Viewers watching along were stunned by his outburst and took to X to share their shock and disbelief. One wrote: "No to this Jedward slander!!! Not on my watch!!! #CBBUK." Another wrote; "Not Louis calling Jedward vile after bigging them up for the whole of 2009 #CBBUK." A further fan wrote: "Jedward are about to annihilate Louis Walsh until the end of time #CBBUK." And another typed: "will not be accepting jedward slander from l*uis w*lsh #cbbuk."

Taking to X themselves, they wrote: "Louis Walsh is a cold hearted b****d who didn’t even send us flowers when our mom died." Their fans quickly sided with them, with one writing: "And then bragging about making £5million off of you. Vile stuff."
Another wrote: "He’s spent the last week showing his true colours. I know who I think is vile, and it’s not you!" And another wrote: "Jesus, just when I think he couldn’t get any lower... I am so sorry, lads" - along with a broken heart emoji.
Others, however, were loving the drama that Louis was bringing to the show. One wrote on X: "I don’t care how evil Louis Walsh is, he’s pure TV gold, has all the interesting gossip and is too senile to care what trouble he’s gonna get in! WE CAN’T LOSE HIM! He will cause so much drama! #CBBUK."
