Steph McGovern is far from happy after a fake photo of herself found its way onto social media with the host appearing to look pregnant.

The understandably annoyed TV presenter hit out and was forced to deny she is expecting following a number of messages. On her Instagram Stories, Steph posted an image from another account that had been shared which showed the star with what could be considered a baby bump.

Clearly fed-up with the strange behaviour, she decided to respond and set the record straight. "A picture that has been doctored to make me look heavily pregnant. For lots of reasons this is really insensitive," she posted, clearly frustrated. Then, she showed the real picture, which included fellow broadcaster Ashley James, taken in a car.

Already a mum, she decides to keep her family life away from the public but did announce that she had welcomed her first child five years ago. Back in November 2019, Steph shared the happy baby news over on Twitter, now X, writing: "Well hello world, just surfaced to let you know that we now have a daughter! Born on Monday morning just as @BBCBreakfast was wrapping up. We're all fine and dandy. Just getting used to the eau de sick/poo I am now regularly wearing. #babylife."

In an Interview with the Express, the presenter revealed the reason she keeps the identity of her loved ones a mystery. She said: "I would just get too mad if I started reading negative things about them. My daughter has no choice and my partner's not in the public eye, so I wouldn't want to subject them to the opinions of others."

Steph is also very private when it comes to opening up about whether she would like more children. Speaking to Woman & Home magazine in 2022, she revealed: "I don't think more children are on the cards. It's a bit like the Strictly question. It feels like a no but I'm not going to say a definitive no because you don't know."

Steph was left devastated last year when her show was cancelled by Channel 4 after being on air for just under four years. Wiping away tears when the last ever episode aired last month, Steph thanked her viewers for tuning in, and before playing a montage of 'best bits' she said: "We've had a proper laugh doing this show. Thank you for sharing your stories with us and being part of this dysfunctional family. Before we go I thought it would be nice to take a trip down memo."
