Emmerdale's Roxy Shahidi refused boss' request to film scene in her underwear
Emmerdale 's Leyla Harding star Roxy Shahidi joined Steph's Packed Lunch to discuss her character's future after her latest storyline saw the businesswoman being held captive by drug dealer Callum.
As she addressed the "perfect way" to leave a soap on Steph's Packed Lunch, Leyla star Roxy told host Steph McGovern she has refused to film scenes in the past when she's been asking to strip to her underwear.
She explained: “Everyone's got their own body issues, haven’t they? So, they're (producers) fantastic like that.
“And equally, if there's stuff in the script that you’re not comfortable with, whether that’s emotional, or whether that's on a physical level, whatever it is, you can always raise that."
Roxy Shahidi praised the Emmerdale bosses as she opened up on her body issues (Channel 4)“For example, I was written in in an underwear scene where I shimmied into a doctor's surgery and dropped my coat in bra and knickers and I said, ‘No, I’m not doing that,'" she continued.

“And so, I ended up in a nice knee length dress from Reiss, but I did a really good shimmy, a little dance, and I think it was funnier because for me personally, I felt comfortable delivering that scene, and also people don’t want to see my bra and knickers when they’re having their tea.”
Meanwhile, the actress spoke about her character's current predicament as Emmerdale fans wait to find out her fate after being kidnapped by Callum.
The star left fans guessing about her future as she opened up on her dream way to leave the ITV soap.
Leyla Harding is being held captive by CallumRoxy said: “100% taxi! If you get in a taxi, you can always come back in a taxi. You go in taxi, you come back in a taxi. So, you want the taxi really because it leaves that door fluid.
“You don’t want to die; it’d be too sad to die. You've known that character for years and years and years and you’ve invested so much. I couldn't do it, I’d weep.”
In Wednesday's instalment of Emmerdale, Leyla's life hung in the balance as Callum's (Tom Ashley) plan to restore his reputation backfired.
He demanded the recovering addict transport a drugs haul for him but when the plan fell through Callum fell apart, announcing his plans to go on the run.
But, despite Leyla assuring him she would not go to the police, the drug dealer assaulted the businesswoman.
Steph's Packed Lunch airs on Channel 4 on weekdays at 12.30pm.
