The Only Way Is Essex's Chloe Brockett claims co-star verbally abused her
The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Brockett claims her co-star Roman Hackett has subjected her to verbal abuse during their time on the show.
The 23-year-old reality TV star - who is set to appear on Celeb Ex on the Beach - has spoken out about the alleged backstage incident for the first time - which failed to make it on the screen. Chloe alleges the pair had clashed while working on the set of the TV show together - and that their argument had left Roman calling her "fat c***." On the ITVBe show, Chloe was embroiled in a love triangle with 25-year-old Dani Imberta, and 21-year-old Roman, which she says "was set up" by producers and claimed she was "never romantically involved" with Roman.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: "He called me a fat c***," says Chloe. She added: "I was totally shocked by what Roman said. I know it was in the heat of the moment, but it was really hurtful that he brought up my weight." Asked whether she believes Roman could appear on Ex on The Beach with her, Chloe says this likely won't be the case, since the pair never dated. "He definitely won't be appearing on the show because I never dated him, he's not my ex," said Chloe, who joined TOWIE in 2019 at 18 years old. Adding: "Our 'love triangle' with Dani was set up by the show, there was never anything between us." A spokesperson for TOWIE said the show "categorically deny all claims made by Chloe" about a staged romance.
Last year, Roman opened up to the Mirror about an alleged altercation with Chloe while filming. Chloe allegedly threw three glasses at him during a brutal argument while filming for the ITVBe reality series. In September, following the incident, Roman said: "I can't say too much... it was mainly over the fact that I still had feelings for Dani that was why it got a bit escalated. That's all I can say on it, I can't say... as much as I want to, I can't say..."
Earlier this year, Chloe confirmed she had quit TOWIE after five years. On her Instagram page, she wrote: "I have made the decision to take a step back from TOWIE. It's been my life since I was 18 and I feel like it's best for me at this point in my life to step away. I'm forever grateful to TOWIE for giving me the platform they have. Love you all." She thanked the show for "opening a door" for her in the industry, but felt it was time to look "forward to a new challenge."Chloe made her first appearance on the show back in 2019, alongside her mother Clare.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingAt the time, Chloe also teased her upcoming sting on Celebrity Ex on The Beach and told her fans: "Don’t worry guys I’m not gonna be off your screens for too long!" she wrote. "The new series of celebrity ex on the beach launches on the 19th of March - only on @paramountplusuk and @mtvuk #celebex."
Last month, Chloe sparked speculation that she was dating Jack Fincham after sharing loved-up photos of the two on his Instagram Stories. The couple previously dated in 2019, later confirming their split in 2021. Rumours of a reconciliation emerged in 2022, though neither Chloe nor Jack officially confirmed a reunion.
