Gary Goldsmith was booted out of Celebrity Big Brother tonight, when he became the first person to be evicted from the ITV reality show

Gary Goldsmith admitted he did go in to talk about the royals as he was evicted from Celebrity Big Brother tonight.

He said he had an "agenda" going into the show, as he praised Lauren Simon for being "amazing". He said he wasn't very comfortable in the surroundings of the famous house, and he admitted it took him a while to "acclimatise".

Sharon Osbourne had put Gary up for a killer nomination, with her explaining at the time: "The housemate that I nominate is Gary. I don't think he's that comfortable here, I think he's awkward with himself being here too. It's very tough for him; he told me about things. He's brave to have come in here. I somehow don't think this is the place for him. He's the oddball. If I went into his world, and suddenly plonked myself in the middle of his boardrooms, I'd feel the same. I think he's insecure too."

He said he wanted the opportunity to be in such a celebrity environment but stopped short of describing himself as a celebrity, saying he was only related to one - meaning his niece Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales.

Speaking about his conversations on the royals, he said: "To be fair, people were asking me about it but they didn't know what else I was. Why are you here if not for that - people were asking me a lot of questions because they didn't know what to ask. I did volunteer a lot - but hey you caught me. I wanted to change what people think of me and who I was.

"It does hurt for when you're always referred to being a 'bad uncle'. I wanted to change that. What an opportunity to have a sneaky peek behind the world of celebrity. I've tried to be myself, chuck in a royal thing a little too often. It was interesting to see an insight into their world. In my world, I am centre of attention but this is a different level."

As he spoke to hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best and was shown his best bits, he made one more comment about the Princess Of Wales. "Did you know I was related to Kate? Did I mention it enough," he said as the hosting duo laughed.

Asked if he'd have done something differently on the show, he said thank you to the programme for giving him a chance and insisted he had no regrets. Gary also quipped that he wish he'd lost some weight before heading into the house.
