Death In Paradise first look as Neville makes big decision and return teased

Death In Paradise will air some big scenes this weekend - as a huge return is teased.

The Mirror have got an exclusive first look at the upcoming episode of Death In Paradise. Last week, fans were stunned to see DI Neville Parker's ex arrive in Saint Marie with a plan to win him back after he lamented over his struggles with love, but with his heart set on DS Florence Cassell and still broken from the end of his relationship with 'Sophie'?

In a first-look clip shared with The Mirror, Neville (Ralf Little) sits down with his ex to chat about their lives since they split. "You've changed," she tells him before quizzing him about romance. He admits he got his heart broken twice, with his ex seemingly reassuring him that it happens to the rest of them too but she explained she had been dumped by her fiancé.

"I got dumped a month ago by my fiancé, I'm fine now. Just got to suck it up and get back out there," she told him, to which he replied that that was what his mum had said to him. When she lambasted him for saying she was like his mum, he explained that he thought he would give up on love but his mum convinced him otherwise.

Sitting watching the sunset over dinner, she tells him it's time they both found some happiness - but could a romance be on the cards for the pair, or is Neville too bruised from their past encounter to get back with her?

Throughout the series so far, Neville has been struggling with his quest for love and moving on from the two women who broke his heart - Florence Cassell and 'Sophie', who was actually a lady called Rebecca who was dating him to get back at the police officer for sending her sister to jail back in Manchester for her part in a drugs operation.

But does she want to get back with him? (BBC)

Asked how Neville is coping after what happened with Sophie, Ralf revealed: "With difficulty. He's obviously very hurt and bruised by it and mistrustful of people. The concept of romance and love has left him extremely jaded.

"He feels like maybe it's just not for him and that for some people, it just doesn't work for them. We join him this series very much feeling like he's one of those people and this is all just something he should give up on or he'll get hurt again. He’s broken by the whole experience and ready to give up on the idea of loving in any way at all."
