Trump's 'fundamental breakdown' in ability to use language shows 'ominous shift'
Donald Trump's "fundermental breakdown" in his ability to use language shows a "radicial and omionous shift", a psychology expert has claimed.
The 77-year-old has made repeated attempts against "aging" Joe Biden for being "incompetent". However, it is the former president who is also showing signs of diminished mental acuity, according Dr John Gartner, a psychologist and former professor at the Johns Hopkins University Medical School.
Trump said this week was running against former president Barack Obama for the eighth time and is also continuing to show more "phonemic aphasias" - such as saying “Venezuero” instead of Venezuela. MediasTouch editor Ron Filipowski shared 32 examples from just two speeches of Trump experiencing severe challenges during his recent speeches in Virginia and North Carolina last Saturday.

No one believed it when he said he was joking the first seven times, and he keeps saying it, showing just how deeply disoriented he is and how advanced his apparent dementia has become.

"[Trump] is also demonstrating semantic aphasias: 'steak mountain or steak hill,' instead of 'Snake mountain'. Trump is continuing to slur words. What is even more troubling is how Trump sometimes can’t form words at all but just makes sounds. For example, 'Saudi Arabia and Russia will…. bluh-ub-bll...'."
In addition, the expert believes there were more examples last week of Trump's "fundermental breakdown" in his ability to "use language, to think and to communicate." He explained: "When Trump visited the border, he said: 'Nobody [can] explain to me how allowing millions of people from places unknown, from countries unknown, who don’t speak languages — we have languages coming into our country, we have nobody that even speaks those languages. They are truly foreign languages. Nobody speaks them.'
"In my opinion, Donald Trump is getting worse as his cognitive state continues to degrade. If Trump were your relative, you’d be thinking about assisted care right now."
Biden has also faced criticism for his age (Getty Images)The mistakes comes as Trump appeared to call Melania ‘Mercedes’ during a chaotic speech in Washington. Trump addressed the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference, and gave the former First Lady a standing ovation.
He went on to say how “people love her” during the keynote speech. Adding: “Oh look at that Mercedes, that’s pretty good.”
During a rally in New Hampshire last month, Trump repeatedly confused Nikki Haley with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The ex-President beat the 52-year-old in her home state with Haley later dropping out of the running.
The gaffes come as President Joe Biden delivered a defiant argument for a second term in his State of the Union speech Thursday night, lacing into GOP front-runner Donald Trump for espousing “resentment, revenge and retribution” and for jeopardizing freedom at home and abroad. Revelling in the political moment, Biden fired multiple broadsides at “my predecessor” without ever mentioning Trump by name — 13 times in all — raising his voice repeatedly as he worked to quell voter concerns about his age and job performance while sharpening the contrast with his all-but-certain November rival.
The scrappy tone from Biden was a sharp break from his often humdrum daily appearances and was intended to banish doubts about whether the 81-year-old president, the country’s oldest ever, is still up to the job.
