Thomas Tuchel wants to return to England and would be interested in taking charge at Manchester United, although it remains to be seen if Erik ten Hag will be sacked.

The Bayern Munich head coach guided the German giants to Bundesliga glory after replacing Julian Nagelsmann last year, however, it has been confirmed that he and Bayern will be parting ways in the summer following a difficult second season at the helm.

Tuchel has already been linked with several roles since news of his imminent availability broke, including some in England. And the former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea coach would like to manage in the Premier League again.

According to Bild, Tuchel would be happy to return to England and Manchester United is a potential destination for the German. However, it's not yet known whether the new club hierarchy, headed up by Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will make a managerial change.

The report goes on to outline that Tuchel would be open to a remarkable return to Chelsea. There is uncertainty surrounding Mauricio Pochettino, who has endured an underwhelming maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge with the Blues currently languishing in 11th place.

Any potential return would hinge on club owner Todd Boehly being willing to put aside the personal differences that occurred in the lead-up to his brutal sacking back in September 2022. Tuchel remains a popular figure at Stamford Bridge after guiding the Londoners to Champions League glory in May 2021.

It's noted that Tuchel is also keeping tabs on other English clubs as he bids to secure a return to England. While he may not currently see United as a viable option due to Ten Hag being in place, the Dutchman has seemingly been offered no assurances over his future.

Club icon Paul Scholes claimed after the Manchester derby, which United lost 3-1, that he feels Ineos have already decided to make a change. When he was asked if he thought Ten Hag would still be in his position at the start of next season, Scholes told Optus Sport: "I think they [INEOS] have already made their mind up. I don’t think he will be there next season. No.

"From the interviews we've heard with Sir Jim, I thought there was a little bit of negativity towards the club the last 10 or 11 years and especially the last two years. I don't think he's happy with what's going on. I wouldn't be surprised if they're looking for a new manager now. I'm not saying it's the right decision."
