Packing a suitcase for a holiday can feel like an impossible task when you want to pack all your new outfits, with matching shoes - especially when you've only got carry-on luggage.

Heading away for a break is the best way to relax, unwind, and forget the stresses of your day-to-day working life. There's nothing like that airport feeling when you've got a glass of wine in hand, a new book ready to read on the plane, and you're feeling nothing but good vibes.

But, unfortunately, first comes the packing, which can be a massive task in itself. What if you forget something important? What if not everything will fit in the 10kg allowance? Even the most seasoned travellers will struggle to get everything in.

Katy Nastro, spokesperson for the flight alert service Going, told HuffPost about the 333 packing method, which is where you choose three tops, three bottoms, and three pairs of shoes which will create a capsule wardrobe for your holiday with over a dozen outfit combinations that will fit easily in your carry-on.

It will ensure that you don't over-pack, but ensures "you look the part", according to Katy, and she said: "An unexpected benefit is you have an excuse to pick up an item or two on the trip - you packed light after all."

And even if you can't exactly stick to the 333 method, it's a great place to start, and if you have room to add additional outfits, then go for it. As long as you can zip up your carry-on case with ease and it weighs under the designated amount, you'll be fine.

Katy said: "Using the 333 rule as your basis, you'll be more conscious overall of how much you pack. Less stuff, less stress, and less unnecessary bag fees paid."

TikToker @nasiamore showed how you can make 17 outfits on her page, also incorporating handbags and accessories into the rule to make the outfits look even more different. In the caption, she wrote: "You can't go wrong with the 333 rule. Saving time when packing for holidays, plus creating a small capsule wardrobe and seeing how many outfits you can create using those 15 items."

She chose items that were completely different to each other to create many completely different looks. For example, she chose a denim midi skirt, and in total contrast, lace pants, and also knee-high boots and Dr Marten mules, so she had enough variety to mix it up.
