Madonna broke her silence following her near-death health scare during a vulnerable moment onstage revealing the unexpected first word that came out of her mouth when she woke up from a four-day coma.

In June of 2023, The Queen of Pop was forced to put her world tour on hold as she was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive on her bathroom floor. After being jolted with Narcan, the famous singer was rushed to the ICU to be treated for a life-threatening bacterial infection. At the hospital, Madonna was intubated and put into a medically induced coma for four days.

Madonna opened up about the life-altering event during her performance first Celebration Tour show in Los Angeles Monday night. During the show, the 65-year-old singer said: "This show every night is not really so hard on me physically," she added: "It’s hard on me emotionally because I’m really telling you the story of my life. My heart is on my sleeve. I’ve fallen off a lot of horses and broken a lot of bones… but nothing can stop me."

The famous Like a Virgin hitmaker then went on to reveal the first word that she allegedly spoke when she woke up from her medically induced coma. The Grammy award-winning singer then went on to give a shoutout to a special guest in the crowd - one of the doctors who treated her while she was fighting her health battle in the hospital. Madonna explained that not only was the physician there for her in the ICU, but also carried her through her restless recovery period. She said that she would call him "every other day" asking when her energy levels would return to normal, when she would start feeling like her old self, and when she would finally be able to return for her Celebration Tour.

Madonna explained: "All he would say is, 'Go outside in the sun'…It was so hard for me to walk from my house to the backyard and sit in the sun. I know that sounds insane, but it was difficult. It’s a strange thing to finally not feel like I was in control, and that was my lesson…to let go.'"

The Material Girl hitmaker also gave a special moment of recognition for her six children who she said inspired her to get back on stage and keep pushing forward. She sweetly said: "My children are what really helped me pull through because they worked so hard. I didn’t want to let them down, so I just set a date. And that date became reality."
