Horrifying footage of a group of men shooting a good samaritan who was asked for one dollar has been shared online by police in an attempt to identify and catch them.

Authorities in Kansas City, Missouri, released the sickening clip of the gas station incident which happened at around 10.45pm on February 22. The victim, who is now out of hospital and on the mend, handed over the cash after being approached by someone he thought was a homeless man.

Instead, two other men appear out of nowhere on the forecourt and shoot him before going through his pockets and stealing his car. It happened not far from Cleveland Avenue. Now, cops are looking for the three suspects who were caught on CCTV committing the crime. Images of them entering the stoor in dark tracksuits with their hoods up were also shared.

The suspect with the gun is then seen jumping into the vehicles, stepping over the victim and speaking to him in the process, before they flee the scene, MailOnline reports. He then goes through the man's pockets, like his friends, and pushes him over onto his back to check the other side before picking up what he's found and going back to the car.

Kansas City police shared the footage on X, formerly known as Twitter, in an attempt to track the men down. A statement from the force said: "Watch the whole video. Leaving a gas station, an innocent man was asked for a dollar and gave it. He was then shot and robbed in the 4500 block of Cleveland Ave. on February 22nd around 10.45pm.
