'Masked men' open fire on outdoor party, killing four before fleeing
A fun night turned into a nightmare when gunmen attacked a house party in King City, California, killing four people and hurting several others.
The King City Police Department said that three unknown men came to the house, got out of a car parked nearby, and started shooting at people standing in the front yard. They were wearing masks and shot multiple rounds before fleeing.
When the loud gunshots finally stopped, three men were found dead in the yard from bullet wounds, according to the police. A fourth person, a woman hit by the gunfire, was quickly taken to a nearby hospital where she died.

Police officers are investigating the shooting (Getty Images)The terrible violence started around 8pm on Sunday during a party at a house on Russ Circle, a normally peaceful street in King City, which is about 170 miles south of San Francisco in Monterey County.

The woman who died was taken to Mee Memorial Hospital, about 106 miles (170km) south of San Jose. The three men were taken to Natividad Hospital in Salinas, the police said.
The police are still investigating to figure out why the shooting occurred. Chris Lopez, who helps run Monterey County and looks after King City, wrote a short note on Facebook about the scary event.
"As we await details on tonight's events in King City please send prayers and healing energy to our community," said Lopez. "May the victims find strength and healing, may our first responders remain safe, and may we all help restore peace to our neighborhoods and communities."

Meanwhile, a brutal California snowstorm has closed off a major highway as communities become cut off and buried under 10ft snow drifts.
Ski resorts were also shut down Sunday as the effects of a powerful blizzard continued to cause problems across the Sierra Nevada, and forecasters warned that more heavy snow was on the way for Northern California.

Sections of Interstate 80 to the west and north of Lake Tahoe were made impassable by blowing snow piling up in lanes, with no estimate for reopening, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP office in South Lake Tahoe warned motorists that tire chains for improved traction are required on most mountain routes. The online warning was accompanied by a photo of a big rig without chains stuck in whiteout conditions on a local road.
