Woman buys 'beautiful' Shein dress but people spot mortifying detail up close
Treating yourself to a new outfit feels really good - especially when you try it on and it fits like a glove.
When one woman purchased a strappy dress with flower detailing from fast-fashion powerhouse Shein, the last thing she expected was for people to point out something rude about the seemingly innocent motif.
Maddy Joy took to TikTok to post a short clip with her partner, and she happened to be wearing her new dress. But when the comments came flooding in, she was horrified to see others had a completely different take on her "beautiful frock".
"I thought the dress was a dildo at first, but you look so cute", someone bluntly announced. And it's clear to see why people had this initial thought, as when Maddy is close up to the camera and the rest of the detail is out of view, there's a large, pink detail that looks rather suspicious.
But as Maddy moves away from the camera, towards her partner, it becomes clear that the pattern is actually a flower. Still, people can't un-see the cheekier alternative and it's left them in stitches.

When someone said that they thought the motif showed a sex toy, Maddy replied: "Hahaha it's so bad, but thanks, angel." "Stop, hahaha", another commented, when they realised it did look rather raunchy.
"I thought it was this as well, help", a TikToker penned. Many just tagged their friends with reams of crying with laughter faces. Maddy reassured people, however, that it's "just a flower."
Others went one step further, claiming that the detail looked like a "a penis" rather than the orchid that it's supposed to be.. Some said their "minds are in the gutter" after what they spotted at first glance, with one woman saying: "I'm so dirty minded, I literally saw a dildo", but Maddy said: "Don't worry, everyone sees it."
It's not the first time that Shein's clothing has left people confused, as one pair of shorts released in 2023 left little to the imagination. Many said the item looks more like a thong than something you'd wear out and about, and some said they may "never walk again" after trying them on thanks to how short they were.
