Meghan and Kate's brief united front not what it seemed as call detail emerges
When Meghan Markle and Princess Kate stepped out together to Wimbledon it looked like the two women were becoming firm friends.
However, it appears that things weren't as they seemed when the pair headed to the iconic sports tournament back in the summer 2019. At the time there was already talk of strained relationship between the pair - something which Prince Harry gave further details on in his memoir Spare.
In the controversial book Harry described the tensions between the pair as he admitted that they had argued over bridesmaids dresses prior to the royal wedding. He also gave away details of a awkward encounter when Meghan asked Kate to borrow her lipgloss at the 2018 royal summit.

He wrote: "Kate got things rolling straightaway by acknowledging that these stories in the papers about Meg making her cry were totally false. 'I know, Meghan, that I was the one who made you cry'." Another alleged incident occurred when Harry alleged that Kate told Meghan she had hurt her feelings by telling her she has "baby brain."
The Princess Of Wales had recently given birth to Prince Louis Kate allegedly subsequently demanded an apology from Meghan saying: "We are not close enough for you to talk about my hormones!"
Meghan later discussed the trip with Oprah (Daily Mirror)Meghan later gave some insight into how she really felt while at Wimbledon with Kate in her and Harry's infamous Oprah Winfrey interview. The chat in 2021 saw Oprah ask Meghan "Did you feel welcomed by everyone? It seemed like you and Kate... at the Wimbledon game where you were going to watch a friend play tennis...
"Was it what it looked like? You are two sisters-in-law out there in the world, getting to know each other. Was she helping you, embracing you into the family, helping you adjust?"
Meghan initially replied: "I think everyone welcomed me." She then added: "When you say, 'Was it what it looked like?' my understanding and my experience of the past four years is, it's nothing like what it looks like. It's nothing like what it looks like."
It's since been reported that Princess Kate has recently phoned Meghan in a bid to ease the tension between the pair. Sources claim the chat came at the end of last year amid the book bombshell, Endgame.
"Shortly after the book’s allegations came out, Kate reached out to Meghan to clear the air,” an insider told In Touch Weekly, adding that it was King Charles who had asked Kate make the call. "Charles forced Kate to become his peacemaker after William's refusal."
