Danielle Lloyd speaks out on 'terrifying' burglary that left her unable to sleep

Danielle Lloyd has opened up about a scary break-in at her home that left her unable to sleep for weeks.

The model was out with her husband Michael O'Neill and their five children when the burglary happened. She watched it all unfold on a live-stream from her phone. Danielle, who shares her home with her businessman husband, was enjoying a night out with her kids when the robbers struck. She is mum to Autumn and Ronnie, who she has with Michael, and Archie, Harry and George, who are from a previous relationship.

The alarm on Danielle's phone alerted her to the fact that strangers were in her house. She admitted it felt like the burglars knew exactly what they were after. Danielle said: "It was terrifying. We were all angry and in absolute shock. It was definitely a targeted raid, they knew what they were looking for."

Danielle and her family could only watch as the robbers broke into their home using a crowbar. They took several items, including watches and jewellery. After calling the police, Michael rushed back home, but by the time he and the officers got there, the robbers had already run away.

Danielle told The Sun: "It was horrifying - and the worst thing I have ever seen. It was a Saturday night and we all went out to a Halloween party. We rarely go out so we think they targeted it for when we were out." After posting some family snaps to Instagram, Danielle said they had only just arrived at their party before their phones were alerting them to the break-in.

The robbery didn't only affect Danielle, but also her children. She revealed she "couldn't sleep for weeks" and Ronnie struggled to sleep or "be on his own for a while". Danielle rose to fame by winning both Miss England and Miss Great Britain beauty contests in the 2000s. She went on to become a glamour model and lads’ mags favourite, famously losing her Miss Great Britain title after posing nude in Playboy.

Danielle had a high profile romance with footballer Jamie O'Hara where they married in 2012 and welcomed three sons, Archie, 13, Harry, 12, nine-year-old George. The couple divorced and Danielle has since found love with Michael. She married the electrician in 2019 and since welcomed son Ronnie, five, and daughter Autumn Rose, two.

Before welcoming Autumn Rose in November 2021, she admitted she was desperate for a daughter. She previously said she would even consider controversial gender selection to make her dream come true. The procedure allows parents to choose the gender of their child through IVF genetic screening. But her wish finally came true when she found out she was having a girl naturally.

Danielle has plans to add to her family in the future and if she can’t have any more kids naturally following her health scare, she would like to adopt. The mum-of-five joked she’d have to get a “double decker bus” to drive her brood around.
