Matt Hancock 'annihilated' by Celebrity SAS officers new pal Danielle Lloyd says

Matt Hancock has struck up an unlikely friendship with Danielle Lloyd but that didn't stop the model saying the shamed MP was 'annihilated' by Celebrity SAS officers.

It seems the cocky former politician was brought down to earth with a bump on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after bragging that being in Westminster has prepared him for the rigours of crack military training. But it clearly didn't go to plan on the Channel 4 show and Danielle says her new mate was taken apart by the brutal instructors.

His co-stars did grill the former I''m A Celebrity campmate about what went on during Covid but, she says, they're planning to meet up soon. "Some people definitely had a few questions for him over what went down during the pandemic, but I won’t give too much away," she told OK! Magazine. "All I’ll say is that he did handle confrontation quite well. It was such an intense situation, but I think the officers absolutely annihilated him."

The mum-of-five confessed: "Do you know what? I didn’t have an opinion on him before. I’m definitely not into politics, he was just someone I saw on the news every day when we were being told not to leave our houses.

"But when I met him, he was nice enough to me – really friendly. I tend to take people as I find them, I try not to take into account things I’ve heard before." Danielle even admits that the now close-knit duo are in the midst of arranging plans to meet up, joined by their partners Michael O’Neill and Gina.

"Matt messaged me the other day asking if Michael and I wanted to go out with him and Gina on a double date for some food some time," she said. "We’re very different people – I honestly don’t know what we’d talk about, but I’m sure it’d be a fun night...."

She added: "I’d just have to get him drunk!"

After being the first celeb brought in for questioning on the Channel 4 SAS show, new DS member Chris Oliver accused him of "weak leadership" by abusing his position and believing the rules simply didn’t apply to him.

The Only Way Is Essex's James 'Arg' Argent is also part along with former Love Island star Teddy Soares, Michelle Heaton from Liberty X, singer Gareth Gates, former glamour model Melinda Messenger, former footballer Jermaine Pennant and rugby star Gareth Thomas.

Hancock lost the Conservative Party whip over his stint on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! last year. He collected more than £300,000 for appearing in the ITV reality show while he was still being paid to represent his constituents.

Campaigners for those bereaved in the pandemic accused him of "trying to cash in on his terrible legacy". Hancock was forced to quit as Health Secretary in 2021 after CCTV footage surfaced of him kissing an aide, Gina Coladangelo, at a time when this breached his own social distancing guidelines.
