Cat has been gracing our screen since 1988 but only now has the star revealed her upward battle of feeling comfortable within her own skin and hair despite the disasters. The star will be gracing our screens and replacing Holly Willoughby on ITV’s This Morning alongside Ben Shephard is now known for her glamorous style and beauty but admits to having “so many beauty disasters.”

She graced the screen in 1998 after hosting Saturday Morning Television Live (SMTV) alongside Ant & Dec until 2002 then went on to conquer the Hollywood scene. However, in a recent interview, the presenter admitted she has had “ugly duckling” moments.

In an interview with the , she mused over her past fashion and beauty choices. Cringing she said, "I mean, I've had a terrible perm, I had one eyebrow, I then had two very thin eyebrows, I even had really short hair that looked like a giant mushroom!"

Despite public mistakes, Cat has learnt an important lesson about true beauty and she says it’s all about self-acceptance and confidence. She shared: "There is nothing I haven't done, but [for] women [to feel] very comfortable in their own skin, I think you have to kind of go through that to work out what doesn't work for you!"

In 2006, first taking to holiday to host So You Think You Can Dance, Cat rejected beauty standards and refused cosmetic surgery suggested to her including a nose job. This was despite much pressure from industry insiders.

Joking in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph's magazine, she said: "I've still got no boobs and a nose that goes that way." She added: "My teeth have always been good – weak, but look good. When it comes to stuff like that, you’re asking the wrong woman."

Cat has rejected pressures to conform to the beauty standard throughout her career and she said naivety and practicality were what helped her, she said, "I never thought I was going to “crack America”. Even in my wildest dreams.

“Once I’d got the [SYTYCD] job, I was worrying about getting my US driving licence and finding somewhere to live. Naïvety was really beneficial. I was concentrating on practicalities rather than thinking, “Oh my goodness, so and so is in the room.”"

Cat’s natural beauty and style have made her the envy of women everywhere and she has become a symbol of self-confidence for women.
