Easter just got the ultimate upgrade as McDonald's has finally announced its new menu, and it's good news for hot cross bun lovers.

The fast food chain's latest offerings will hit stores nationwide on March 13 - but will only be available for a limited time. McDonald's says fans will 'go hoppin' mad' for the new additions - that feature 'feel-good nostalgic flavours' and its 'cutest' ice cream yet.

Customers will also see the triumphant return of three iconic items that were previously axed, including a 'egg-cellent' McFlurry the nation has sorely missed and a burger that first appeared on menus last summer.

McDonald's has gone Easter mad as it confirms the launch of its Hot Cross Bun Pie (£1.99). The dessert consists of a 'crispy cinnamon pastry filled with a spiced fruit mix and butter-flavour crem filling'. A Hot Cross Bun Latte (£2.69) will also grace the menu, sweetened with Hot Cross Bun flavour syrup, cinnamon cream and a Hot Cross Bun flavour dusting.

For those wanting to satisfy their chocolate cravings, fear not. The new Galaxy Truffle Bunny McFlurry will also be making its debut. The soft dairy ice cream is served with pieces of Galaxy Truffle bunny ears, white and dark chocolate drops, and galaxy chocolate sauce.

Fans were devastated when McDonald's axed one of its most beloved products. Luckily, the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry (£2.19) will be making a temporary return for the Easter period. For those who don't remember, the soft serve is swirled with pieces of Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate and topped with a mouth-watering Creme Egg sauce.

On the savoury side of things, the McCrispy Deluxe (£5.89) is also back for a limited time - featuring 100 per cent chicken spread, hot and spicy mayo, caramelised onion compote, lettuce, bacon, red onions and a slice of cheddar cheese. And last but by no means least, the holy grail Halloumi Fries (£2.79) will be available - served with a 'rich tomato dip'.
