Maya Jama's cryptic 'frauds' message after posing with celebs at fashion week
Maya Jama has posted a cryptic message about "frauds" after she was photographed with a string of celebrities at Milan Fashion Week.
The 29-year-old Love Island host - who recently wrapped up the final of the ITV2 dating show - was papped with stars including Kanye West, Ashley Graham and Eva Mendes in the Italian capital last week. Maya seemed to be enjoying herself in shots taken from the front row, however she's now taken to Instagram, hinting things aren't always as they seem.
Sharing a snap of herself looking pensive and wearing a black baseball cap, she wrote: "Everyday I realise people's realities to what they show is shockingly opposite sometimes. Some people aren't private, they are pretending. Reminder to not compare, because half of 'em are frauds or miserableee [sic]. "
Earlier this week, the Bristol-born presenter was sitting two seats away from rapper Kanye and his semi-naked wife Bianca Censori. She also joined joined by model Eva Herzigová on the front row at Alberta Ferretti, before sitting near actress Eva Mendes for Dolce and Gabbana. Maya spoke to Vogue about her plans in Milan while she was a guest at the fashion shows, saying it's important to "take regular naps" because the schedule can "get a bit hectic".
Earlier this month, Maya was announced as the host of the 2024 Brit Awards alongside radio stars Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo . Speaking about bagging the prestigious gig, she said: “I’m telling myself, ‘This will be something to show my grandkids, don’t mess it up.’”
Love Island fans say Maya Jama's return to South Africa means Casa Amor is backAn artist certain to attend the awards is Maya's boyfriend, Stormzy, who is back with the presenter after they called it quits. Opening up about rekindling her romance with the celebrated Grime star, she said on Love Island: "I had a lot of people saying I should get back with my ex and sometimes it is just not what you're ready for." Maya was met with a huge cheer from the audience as she added: "He is over there so it worked out in the end."
Following Maya's comment, fans flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to praise Maya for her honesty as one said: "Maya wants Callum and Molly to see the light, even brought up how she went back to her Stormzy, she’s one of us."
Maya went her separate way from Stormzy back in 2019 when endless rumours were swirling that the rapper had been unfaithful to the former Radio 1 star. Despite the allegations, Stormzy vehemently denied ever cheating on Maya with the Vossi Bop hit-maker confessing he simply had not treated the presenter how she deserved to be treated.
Speaking to the Sunday Times about their spilt, Maya hinted at tension between them, saying: “I’m not naive to the fact that when you are a woman in the industry, most of the things that people want to talk about are your relationships. It’s different for men. I’d seen that happen to other people."
