Victoria Beckham hit hard by Romeo's split with girlfriend as dreams dashed
Victoria Beckham is understood to be cut up by son Romeo's split from girlfriend Mia Regan as she was sure they would go on to get married.
Posh has reached out to the model after they called it a day, with the 21-year-old footballer taking to Instagram to put the rumours to bed by confirming it's all over - and said they are determined to remain friends. Romeo has been in a relationship with Mia, also 21, since 2019, however after they spent Valentine's Day apart the writing was on the wall.
The pair were last seen together at the British Fashion Awards in London at the start of December and neither has posted snaps of the other on social media since. Romeo and Mia, who first started dating when they were 16 before going on a break in 2022, were said to have gone from strength to strength after reuniting in the UK.
So the news naturally came as a shock to his parents, and Victoria was convinced the young lovers would even go on to tie the knot. The former Spice Girl, it is claimed, was keen to create a huge Kardashian-style showbiz family but her hopes have been dashed with youngest son Cruz calling it a day with Tana Holding after a year together back in October.

She’s been known to want to create a big celebrity family like the Kardashians and that looks unlikely — for now, anyway. She can’t control what goes on with her kids, as much as she’d like to."

The footballer, who is trying to breaking through playing for Premier League club Brentford's B team, confirmed their separation, writing on Instagram: "Mooch and I have parted ways after 5 years of love, we still have a lot of respect for each other, and still hold a strong friendship and always will."
Sharing a photo of herself with her ex on her Instagram Stories, Mia wrote: "This is an Ro, we have grown up with each other since we were 16!! Love takes different forms & paths as you mature. We aren't tougher romantically but we do share lots & lots of love for one another... after 5 years we friendzoned each other."
Mia - whose Instagram handle is MimiMoocher - quickly became a regular fixture at the Beckham family’s social events alongside David, mum Victoria and the rest of the clan. The source told the Mirror: “While Romeo was playing for Inter Miami, he and Mia both found the long-distance relationship difficult.
"But Romeo really felt that Mia was the one for him so after he returned to Brentford, he was keen to give things another go. Unfortunately, they seem to have hit yet another bump in the road and only time will tell if they patch things up. It will be a shame if they can’t, as Mia is a big favourite with Romeo’s family. But ultimately, everyone just wants them both to be happy.”
