Brooklyn Beckham's pancakes split the opinion of his fans

Brooklyn Beckham challenged dad David Beckham to battle it out as the family's top pancake tosser on Tuesday - but some fans weren't impressed with their delicacies.

Budding chef Brooklyn, 23, uploaded a video of him flipping his dessert to his Instagram as the family celebrated Shrove Tuesday.

Alongside the slow-mo video, Brooklyn asked dad David whether he could do the same move with his eyes closed.

Brooklyn was seen tossing his pancake in the air a number of times before landing a flip with his eyes covered. Seemingly impressed with himself, he flashed a wry smile in the direction of the camera before continuing to flip.

David was quick to praise his son's efforts, writing: "I couldn’t do it with my eyes open. Looks a good pancake."

But his thoughts weren't shared by everyone on the post, with one user commenting: "That's not a pancake that's too thick."

Another penned: "burnt tho [sic]," while a third said: "Too thick for a pancake more like a omelette."

And Selena Gomez also took to replying to jibe her pal. "Cool.. love how you never make pancakes when I’m there," she wrote.

Brooklyn's challenge came after the former England captain uploaded a video of him flipping his creation - albeit with his eyes open - and catching it on his chest.

With Miley Cyrus ' Flowers playing over the top of the clip - in which Victoria Beckham looks less than impressed - David wrote: "Told you I still got it."

The former Spice Girl, seemingly mocked him in the comments section, writing: "Perfect tossing."

Earlier in the day, David had shared images to his Instagram Stories showing daughter Harper excited to work with him to produce the treats.

The family added toppings such as honey to their masterpieces, which included making one in the design of David's football team Inter Miami.

The images are the latest in David showing the close bond he has with his kids after he took his youngest son Cruz to celebrate turning 18.

The newly turned 18-year-old took to social media page to share a snap from his birthday celebrates where he enjoyed his first alcoholic drink.

And the image was also uploaded by David on his own page as he proudly wished his son a happy birthday.
