Saturday Night Takeaway fans fume moments into last series as they make demand
Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly fans issued the same complaint as Saturday Night Takeaway returned tonight.
The ITV show is back for one more series after the presenting duo decided to retire the show to spend more time with their family. However, as the show kicked off tonight, fans were quick to make their feelings clear about the programme.
Saturday Night Takeaway has been presented by Ant and Dec for decades and has seen the pair honour unsung heroes with a coveted 'place on the plane', where they're whisked off to Disneyland for a very special show finale. There are musical performances as well as the much-loved Ant vs Dec segment, which sees the pair compete to win the coveted competition.
Elsewhere, Ant and Dec always have fans thrilled by a special segment called ' I'm A Celebrity... Get Out Of My Ear', where the pair try and get the celebrities to say funny things in front of unsuspecting members of the public. Elsewhere, for its final series, Ant and Dec will have the tables turned on them as celebrities team up to take the reigns of the microphones too.
As the show returned tonight, one fan fumed: "I can’t believe that this is the final series of Saturday Night Takeaway I’m gonna miss it I wonder what Ant and Dec have up their sleeves for us next #SaturdayNightTakeaway," whilst a second added: "#SaturdayNightTakeaway aww is it really the last series?" A third shared: "All ready for #SaturdayNightTakeaway Feeling excited and gutted it’s the last series," or a fourth penned: "Excited but also sad as the beginning of the end #SaturdayNi ghtTakeaway."
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesThe pair previously opened up about why the decided to rest the show following this upcoming series. Ant told Fault magazine of why they decided to take a break: "Part of the reason we’re pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family. We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit."
"We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now. Like I say, we’re turning 49, and what do we want to do next? What’s the next phase of our career?" he added, "And we’ve got lots of ideas and lots of offers on the table, lots of options of things we can do. But it’s working on what we do next and where the next chapter begins. So that’s what we’re gonna do when SNT is out of the way. We’ll sit down, take a bit of time, and re-evaluate everything."
